Oil Painting: The Plein Air Minimalist with Caroline Dahlmanns

June 29, 2019

Description

Sat, June 29, 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM
Sat, June 29, 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM

Get outside and enjoy the practice of plein air painting with Caroline Dahlmanns!

Painting en plein air, or outdoor painting, is a joy for capturing your impression of a scene while enjoying the elements. However, knowing what to bring for a plein air setup with oils can be a challenge – you want to travel light yet create comfortably, and with freedom. Make painting outdoors easier and more fun by bringing only what you need. Whether you’re walking, biking, or driving to your destination, Caroline will review setups for each scenario that she has optimized through personal experience – the objective being to bring the minimal amount of supplies while allowing for the maximum range of expression in outdoor painting. Caroline will share her palette, tips for minimal cleanup, ideas for weight reduction, how to transport wet paintings, all with an eye for streamlined solutions that minimize clutter where possible. This demonstration is great for all levels!

Space is limited and registration is required.
Please visit Opus Granville Island or contact them at 604‑736‑7028 to register.
