You will discover the basic secrets of the ancient technique of egg tempera painting and will receive demonstration for each stage of painting (mixing egg yolk emulsion, the “puddle” and brushstroke techniques, transparent layering) in real time.
You will finish this course with a completed painting of the Tree of Life, inspired by illuminated manuscripts and oriental art.
No previous experience necessary.

Materials required: Smooth rigid painting surface (art board or wood panel primed with gesso, 8x10” or 9x12” or 11x14”), 3 watercolour brushes No. 6 (7), 3, 01 (00), dry pigments OR watercolour in pans (not tubes), you could also try Gouache. 1 (2) Egg. Image pattern will be provided.
