Description
Understanding complementary colours is useful for creating intensity of colour in your paintings. Key concepts taught include: using complementary colours to creating dynamic contrasts and how to “grey down” colours that are unnatural or too strong. Some painting experience recommended.

- paint: a range of colours in acrylic, oil, gouache or watercolour including any blue, orange, red, green, yellow, purple.
- two small surfaces (stretched canvas, canvas paper, or gessoed panel)
- brushes
- palette
- palette knife
- water or odorless mineral spirits (depending on paint choice)
