Paper Play: Techniques for Cutting & Sculpting Paper
September 29, 2019
$100
Description
Rachael Ashe is a Vancouver-based artist working in paper-cut, sculpture, and installation work. This class is a more advanced “102” version of her introductory paper cutting workshop, but will be accessible to everyone*. Through this four hour hands-on session she will introduce students more in-depth to techniques for cutting, sculpting, folding, and transforming paper. The goal is to help participants develop papercraft skills, discuss tools and materials, as well as inspire ideas for integrating paper elements into their own work.
A selection of papers, self-healing cutting mats, and extra blades will be provided. Participants MUST bring their own Xacto or Olfa knife to use.
*Note: if you haven’t taken 101, don’t worry! Anyone with artistic experience and a joy of experimentation will love this class. The time is there for you to learn and explore some new techniques.
