Portraiture in Coloured Pencil with Jeannette Sirois

Join Jeannette for a demonstration of their process of portrait drawing with coloured pencils on paper.

She’ll discuss pencil types, required tools and materials and effective methods of blending and layering. Jeannette will guide you through working with your subject, effective composition, choosing colours for various skin tones and how to use your paper to create skin textures and eye reflection.

Jeannette is a professional artist working full time with colour pencil in creating large scale portraits and botanical drawings. She offers workshops in basic to advanced drawing, as well as colour pencil botanical and portrait drawing at her studio on Salt Spring Island. She has twice been a finalist for the Kingston Portrait Prize and her work can be found in numerous private and public collections nationally and internationally. .
