Prints and Reproductions with George L. Traicheff
June 04, 2022
Description
The first one was so popular, we’re doing another one! Join us for a talk on prints and printmaking by George L. Traicheff. He will touch on the difference between original prints and reproductions.
What is an original print? What is a giclée print? What is offset lithography? What is a chromolithograph? How do you tell the difference between them? How are they produced? Which is more valuable? What is the difference between a limited edition, a signed and numbered edition and an open edition? What is a stone lithograph, an etching, a dry point, a linocut, etc.? Where did they all originate?
This talk will answer all of these and many more questions about the world of prints and reproductions. The presenter will have examples of many of the above and the attendees are welcome to bring in works that they may have questions about. This will be an open floor talk with inquiries taken from the floor throughout. It is intended to be a fun, informative session.
