R&F Handmade Paints is the premier manufacturer of two distinct paint lines: classic wax-based encaustic paint and linseed oil-based Pigment Sticks®. Since 1988, R&F’s primary focus has been the development of an extensive and unique color line. Encaustic paint is composed of beeswax, resin, and the highest quality pigments. R&F encaustic paint can be polished to a high gloss, carved, scraped, layered, collaged, cast, and sculpted. R&F Pigment Sticks® unique formulation of natural wax, linseed oil, and pigment achieves a lipstick-like soft consistency giving them superior fluidity, subtlety, and durability. They bring color, texture, and immediacy to the artist. Our formulas are complex and our manufacturing is labor-intensive, handmade in small batches, carefully milled and molded. Both paint lines are produced in our Kingston, New York facility. R&F is unique color.
