Backgrounds for watercolour with Sonia Mocnik
Do you have a difficult time deciding what to do with your background if you are painting a still life or flower? Do you want to try more abstract and loose backgrounds? This one-hour class will start with a basic wash and develop from there to show you ways to complete background colours and techniques.
We will use a heavier based watercolour paper and some watercolours to try out these techniques with supplies provided. If you have your own supplies, bring them along.
Sonia Mocnik is a watercolorist who works in landscape, realism, pen and ink, plants and flowers. She teaches watercolour at the Roundhouse. Her studio is in a shared space at Portside Studios at 150 Mclean Dr. in Vancouver. Her work is shown a regularly at the Federation Gallery on Granville Island and other local venues.
