Shadow Theatre Workshop with Mind of a Snail

Description
This 3 hour workshop is an introduction to shadow play using the overhead projector. We will use our own silhouettes, found objects, scrap materials, and puppets to demonstrate and explore a variety of visual storytelling techniques and theatre games. This workshop is fun and active with lots of laughter.
Mind of a Snail is a compost-modern theatre company based in Vancouver. Since 2003, Chloé Ziner and Jessica Gabriel have been developing a multi-layered style of visual performances that play at the intersection of puppetry, visual arts, clowning & music. They have toured their award-winning shows across Canada, USA, and Taiwan. As artistic collaborators, they are interested in exploring beyond the boundaries of traditional theatre; and creating magical immersive experiences for their audiences and workshop participants.
