Join Kathy as she walks you through the step by step process of silk painting. Using a Koi in a pond as her subject, Kathy will be demonstrating a variety of techniques and tools (such as wax on sponges) to capture the light reflections of the water, preserve the whites and lights, as well as adding depth through colour with every new application of dye.
Space is limited and registration is required.

Kathy King is a visual artist based in Port Coquitlam, BC, Canada. She holds a BA in Fine Art from the University of Waterloo in Ontario, and has been painting on silk for over 18 years. Kathy teaches silk painting at community centres in the Tri-Cities and works on silk (and canvas) in her home studio. ‘’Silk painting is an endless journey with many paths filled with intriguing discoveries. It continually inspires me to keep on the journey.”
