Solvent-Free Alla-Prima Painting Techniques with Mary Weisenburger

Description
With the use of Gamblin Artist Oil Colors, we are showing a Solvent-Free alla-prima painting technique. This demonstration will focus on using a limited palette alongside palette knife paint application – with no brushes! We will also be showcasing Gamblin Solvent-Free Gel medium to help modify the colors without the use of solvent or any fumes. This will be perfect for anyone who wants to learn how to incorporate juicy, buttery application of color in their work.
Materials:
- 10”x10” Pre-primed canvas or panel
- Glass Palette or disposable palette paper – size large preferable for mixing colors
- Opus Palette Knife – two sizes , medium and small
- Gamblin Solvent-Free Gel
- Gamblin Oil Colors – limited palette of four color
- Quinacridone Red
- Radiant Turquoise
- Chromatic Black
- Radiant White
- Rags and/or paper towels for cleanup
- Small tabletop easel (optional – but it helps!)
