Sonia Mocnik’s: Smartie still-life; a beginner guide to colour mixing in Watercolour
October 30, 2020
Description
Not a trick, this is a treat to work with three primary Opus essential watercolours to produce all the colours needed to create a still life of a Smartie box. The question is “Do you paint the red ones last?” or do you go for the lighter colours first. All will be explained during this demo mixing Hansa Yellow Light, Permanent Quin Rose and Phthalo blue to create the primary, secondary and range of colours needed. To begin, Sonia will share tips on creating the shape of a smartie box and ways of making the logo easier to draw. As the demo continues with various methods of colouring and shading, Sonia will help you understand how to mix each of the three primaries together whilst avoiding the dreaded watercolour “mud”. Finishing touches and detail will be added with fineliner and white gel pen. This will be a wonderful demonstration for those starting out in watercolour or anyone looking to refine their colour mixing skills while using a limited palette.
After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
