Textile Painting using Derwent Inktense with Anna Altwein
April 11, 2021
Description
When: April 11th at 1pm PST (1.5hr demo)
Join Vancouver-based artist and Opus staff Anna Altwein as she shows you how Derwent’s Inktense Pencils and Paint Pans can be used to create beautiful, permanent painted textiles. These techniques can be used on fabrics made from absorbent natural fibers – a wonderful way to decorate tote bags, face masks, and more! By painting an Opus Canvas Bag, Anna will demonstrate how a variety of effects can be achieved. She will show wet-on-wet watercolour techniques for washes and layering, tips for detailed lines, and tricks for creating texture. Anna will also speak about heat setting and care instructions. This demo will be great for folks painting on textiles for the first time or anyone interested in techniques in textile arts!
