The Art of Seeing: Abstract Acrylic Painting with Lisa Ochowycz
September 14, 2019
Description
Saturday, September 14, 11:00am – 12:30pm
Saturday, September 14, 2:00pm – 3:30pm
Join Lisa as she explores and demonstrates abstract painting with acrylic paints!
Lisa will discuss the “art of seeing” – how keen observations of our environment (built and natural) can lead to compelling depth in your abstract painting, and explain the importance of working loosely with your paint. Learn how to translate what you see around you into a symphony of intriguing mark-making and brush work! Starting an abstract painting, building layers of painted imagery, how understanding your medium and building your skills can allow for more freedom in the work, how to draw upon your environment, life experience, and passions and how to translate them into paint. Acrylic painting, spontaneous mark making, colour mixing, how working on different surfaces (paper and panel) can affect the influence the work.
Space is limited and registration is required.
Please visit Opus Granville Island or contact them at 604‑736‑7028 to register.
