The Art of Street Photography

Embark on a captivating journey into the world of street photography, where art meets candid observation. You will discover the historical roots and contemporary evolution of this photographic genre, drawing inspiration from iconic street photographers who have shaped its rich history. The technical aspects of equipment, composition, and lighting will be covered as well as the ethical and legal considerations inherent to street photography. By the end of this course, you will have refined your photography skills and also developed a keen understanding of the dynamic influences that shape street photography, empowering you to capture the essence of life in the streets with your own unique vision. The course includes lectures, photo assignments, in-class critiques and group discussions. Prerequisite: a basic understanding of how to use your own camera and how to upload images to a computer.
This online course will be held via Zoom. Students will receive a link one week ahead of the start of the course.

- A DSLR Camera, mirrorless camera. A point and shoot can or cell phone camera can be used as an alternative.
