Sunday, March 8 12:00 – 1:30PM
Sunday, March 8 2:30 – 4:00PM

March 2nd, 2020 – Please note: This workshop is now full and no further registration will be taken. Thank you for your interest!

Give your paintings a vibrant, expressive start with an underpainting. The spontaneous “happenings” that occur during this process will provide your work with a path, allowing subsequent layers of paint to build visual depth and rich texture. Kit Bell will share her method of starting her paintings with a loose, colourful underpainting. She will cover various methods of progressing with the image, such as transparent, opaque, positive and negative painting using a wide variety of tools. Kit will start with a PowerPoint presentation to show finished paintings and the various stages of their development as well as provide hands-on demonstrations of her techniques.

Kit Bell is an award-winning artist living and working in Kelowna, BC. Primarily a landscape painter, she seeks to record the transient effects of light and the seasons on the landscape. Kit wants to share what her trained artist’s eye, and imagination, sees with others. Working in a variety of media allows her to choose the best process for an image. Kit is a signature member of the Federation of Canadian Artists (AFCA) and a member of the Kelowna Painters Studio Society.
