Watercolour Painting: Colours of the Solstice
January 21, 2023 - February 25, 2023
$153
Description
Watercolours are famous for their transparency, luminosity, and vibrancy. The paint pigments are diluted, making beautiful, bright, thin layers of colour and making them perfect for celebrating the colours of the winter solstice. While winter is famous for early evenings and dark nights, winter also dazzles with the amazing colours of the sun and moon reflecting off frozen surfaces, snow, clouds, and the stark silhouettes of nature.
This 6-week watercolour painting class is taught by Bryony, an artist local to Victoria who uses deep and expressive colours and a realistic style to bring paintings to life. This class not only teaches the fundamentals of watercolour painting, but also teaches students to make 5 distinct watercolour paintings of animals or nature scenes. In a creative and supportive environment, students will learn shading, lighting, shapes, colour mixing, how to use various watercolour painting tools, and the techniques involved to paint each distinct subject.
