Join BC Artist Reha Sakar for a wonderful demo on painting seascapes in watercolour. Reha will show attendees his techniques for painting dynamic water and convincing boats as well as talk about how one can gain confidence in watercolor. Attendees can look forward to learning Reha’s keys to creating a successful painting, including the focal point, constructing an enticing composition, using values, and where to use wet vs. dry techniques. Reha will also talk about how he approaches watercolour painting and how he takes advantage of watercolors’ nature in his artistic practice. Artist Bio

Reha’s passion for art stems from spending much of his childhood painting with his mother, who is an artist, in her studio. At university, Reha studied Astronomy which he always wanted to explore, but as an astronomer he didn’t have half the passion that he had for art. In 2002, Reha’s mother pushed him to take some courses on 3D rendering and Photoshop which started a career in the gaming/movie industry beginning in 2004. In 2008, Reha moved to Canada, where he still resides. He started watercolor studies at the end of 2018 and has since developed a rich and varied set of skills. Watercolour has become a passion for Reha and he hopes to continue his career as a watercolourist well into the future.
