Join Darryl W. Funk and discover new ways to work with van Gogh watercolors and Rembrandt pastels!

Many artists are surprised to learn that soft pastels can be mixed with water media for dramatic effects. By combining van Gogh watercolors with Rembrandt pastels, you can achieve a variety of marvellous outcomes. Learn how to properly blend and mix the two mediums together to create beautiful visual effects in your work. Attendees will also gain first hand experience of the new Van Gogh interference and metallic colours. The first demonstration from 12:00pm – 2:00pm does require registration, however the 4:00pm – 6:00pm will be a pop-up style demo, so no need to register! Come by anytime during the time frame that works best for you.

Darryl W. Funk is a Canadian artist working out of Chilliwack, BC. He studied at the Alberta College of Art and Design in Calgary, Alberta and the Center for Arts and Technology, Okanagan in Kelowna, BC.  Darryl has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree specializing in printmaking.

As a landscape painter, Darryl draws inspiration from the art of the 1930s and 40s, specifically that of Canadian painters, Lawren Harris and Emily Carr.  The focus of his work has been the rugged landscape that surrounds him.  

For the last three years, Darryl has been an Ambassador for the North American division of Royal Talens of Amsterdam.  He travels throughout Alberta and B.C. demonstrating the use of their excellent fine art supplies, specifically the ‘solvent-free’ COBRA oils that he uses exclusively.
