The Vancouver Island School of Art (VISA) is a post-secondary art school located in downtown Victoria. VISA is the only independent art school in BC with university transfer credits. VISA's one-year Certificate of Visual Arts program is transferable to the second year of the BFA program at Emily Carr University (Vancouver) and Vancouver Island University (Nanaimo)
VISA was established in 2004 in the Rock Bay area , moved to Quadra Village in 2005 and continued to operate their until 2021, when it moved downtown. VISA is the only art school in downtown Victoria. To date, VISA has served over 5,000 individual students and continues to offer courses and workshops with both in-person and online delivery options.
