3D Printing for Artists

Description

You have probably heard about 3D printing for manufacturing and rapid prototyping, but how is 3D printing useful to artists? Students will immerse themselves in the new world of printing physical objects with a 3D printer in this intensive hands on class with a focus on how 3D printing can be used in the arts, from embellishments in book arts and scrapbooking, to sculpting filament and lost casting. Students will be guided through the 3D printing process: learning how to download and prepare design files for printing on 3D printers in class, and choosing a design file to be printed as a 3D object to take home.
