3D Puppet Head Construction (2 sessions)

Description

Session 1: Wednesday June 20th, 6:30pm to 9pm
Session 2: Thursday June 21st, 6:30pm to 9pm

Over the course of two consecutive evenings you will create your very own puppet head based on marionettes from the Czech Republic. Using newspaper and recycled materials you will first be guided through building up the 3D head shape. Next you will use papier mache to mould and sculpt your puppet head’s facial features. In the second session you can also start to add colour to your puppet head using acrylic paint.

I will be running various classes in June at the True Colour Art Gallery in North Vancouver.

Prerequisites

Basic materials will be supplied – but all participants should ideally bring along some newspaper to use to create their puppet head (2-3 standard newspapers per person should be plenty).
