Description
Learn how to make delicate illuminated paper lanterns, just in time for the Renfrew Ravine Moon Festival!
Jacquie and Lin have been making lanterns for the Vancouver Folk Festival and other lantern parades for over ten years. With their guidance, you will design and build your own bamboo lantern frame, light it with candles or battery-powered LEDs*, and cover with paper (or fabric*). From a simple geometric shape to a fully sculpted illuminated creature, Lin and Jacquie will work with you to problem solve your design and bring your vision to life.
All basic supplies included
(*Please note: depending on the complexity of your design, you may need to purchase additional supplies. For example, LED lighting, batteries, fabric are not included in the workshop cost)
Five workshops for $150, or drop-in $40/ per evening class.
Located at artist studio at Clark and 2nd.
Prerequisites
Recommended: previous lantern or sculpture experience. An ability to think in 3D!
