Artistic Journals & sketchbooks are the backbone of creative practice. In our journals we imagine, learn about color and design our masterpieces. Like music scales to the musician the artists journal is the muse for a sketch, painting or sculpture. In this class we will learn book binding to create a soft bound book to nourish our creative spirit. Building a journal that inspires us to imagine and create. Once our book is ready we will transform the pages for our recipes, new techniques, exploring mediums, designing compositions and experimenting with sculptural and textural effects. This course will focus on palette knife work, building texture and becoming more familiar with molding mediums. We will even learn how to make a beautiful buttery smooth molding medium that will excite your palette.
Come and expand your technical skills and build artistic confidence by creating an Artists Journal that will inspire you to add new dimensions and impasto painterly relief to your work.

Interesting embellishments can be purchased at general salvage in Langford on Jacklin Road, located right across from Belmont Secondary School.
