Book Arts: Five Book Structures and a Folded Paper Case

Book a one day workshop with Trisha for your group in your home, studio or meeting place.
In this one day class students will learn the skills that form the basics of most artists’ book structures and find that books don’t have to be complicated to be interesting. Students will start by decorating large sheets of paper in their own style. These will then be cut and folded to use as unique cover papers to which the book pages will be added. Students will leave with five structural book models, a custom paper folded case and instructions that will serve as a reference for future book projects. Basic book binding terms will be discussed. Artist’s books from the instructor’s collection will be on display for extra ideas and inspiration. This class is suitable for beginners as well as those with some book making experience who would like another perspective on book making. Teachers who want to incorporate book arts projects into their curriculum will also find this workshop helpful. Bring a lunch or snack. Supply list available upon registration. All paper required for the workshop will be provided by the instructor.
