Classical Realism: Drawing with Sanguine and Sepia

Description
We will begin with pencils that replicate the Old Master drawing colours, and then move onto the soft and highly malleable red and brown chalks themselves.
We will also cover how to prepare your own toned paper.
White chalk will be added to the drawings to extend the value range that can be achieved with sanguine and sepia.
Demos and practice exercises will be done in the morning, and we will draw from the live model in the afternoons, with a female model on the first day, followed by a male model the second day.
Students will be encouraged to choose different body parts: hands, feet, torso, portrait, for each sitting.
This workshop is for those who have some previous skill in drawing, and who wish to take their drawings, particularly quick sketches, into a new and dramatic realm. This Old Master medium is ideal for capturing fluidity and movement in a shorter pose.
