FCA Workshop – Mixing Colours with Gaye Adams

$Members 220 / Non-Members 270

Description

Confusion often reigns supreme when it comes to colour mixing. Volumes have been written and complex approaches put in place around this aspect of art making. The many different and complex approaches only seem to add to the sense of confusion.

Accurate colour mixing is first, about training the eye to see colour accurately, and secondly about learning principles and techniques that will help get the mixture correct, every time.

This two-day course is designed to clear away the fog by way of teaching the basic principles of subtractive colour mixing.

There will be a quick review of the Foundations “Mixing Colours” introduction evening session in order to lock in that learning, followed by painting exercises designed to further solidify the principles introduced (students who did not attend the introduction evening class are still strongly encouraged to participate in this weekend workshop). Students will learn not only how to mix the right colour, they will also learn how to get the intensity and tonality correct, which is absolutely necessary in order to make the light in a painting convincing and compelling.

Students will be empowered to arrive at the mixtures they intend, instead of settling for something less. It’s a wonderful tool to add to your kit!
