From Camera to Computer ART for BC TEACHERS Pro D

Time: 9:00am to 3:00pm
Location: VSB Education Centre, Room 100
Audience: Elementary / Secondary Teachers

With Adobe Elements 9 software, on a windows based PC computers (no macs), you will be introduced to digital art! (you may bring your own laptop if you have Adobe Elements or Photoshop installed). On digital photographs you will learn to: resize, adjust, choose filters, add text, effects and work in layers. Creating photographic collages and poster will be sampled. You will also learn also to share your photos by: uploading to social media sites, printing, and projecting. Uploading YouTube videos could also be covered.

Carolyn Sullivan, the presenter, is a Professional Commercial Photographer, and has been with VSB for many years. Initially, she started as VSB staff photographer, and then became Head Instructor and Curriculum Developer, of the Digital Media Programs at VTI/VSB. She has also been an instructor for over 25 years instructing: various photography, video, computer art and digital media courses in Continuing Education, Magee’s summer art programs, Kid Zones and the Artist in Resident program for the VSB. She is also an Artist – listed in the ArtStarts directory. She was trained in the Photography Program at N.A.I.T in Edmonton, and Digital Media/Digital Video Program at the Art Institute of Vancouver.
Carolyn produces commercial photographs of products and food, as well as photographs weddings and portraits for a variety of clients.
