i-phoneography – the Quiet Revolution

Instructor; Tony Bounsall. There is a quiet revolution going on…thousands of people armed with iphones are taking photographs and making art everyday. It is called “iphoneography” or mobile photography. This workshop is a “call to arms” if you own an iphone or ipad, come join the revolution!
On Saturday we will be looking at several “must have” apps, several wonderful FREE apps and what you can do with them. Part of the class also is used to create and incorporate hand made texture components to your iphotographic repetoire after shooting with several of your new apps. On Sunday we will be hand colouring prints made from the Saturdays shooting and post processing blitz, rephotographing and reprocessing them.
Be prepared to be amazed at what you can do with a camera phone and a few apps. If you like the look of plastic camera Low-fi images, 18th century wet plates, grunge, distressed images or complete experimental abstracts this class is for you.

* Participants should have an I-phone 4, 4s or 5 or an I-pad to work with and should already have an account set up with I-tunes so they can purchase apps if they wish to and download free apps. There will not be enough time to walk people through setting up an account during class*. Students should be prepared to purchase several apps. A notebook and pen. Participants should also have several favourite images that they have already shot to work on in case of bad weather.
