Description
Instructor; Amy Robertson. In this 2 day workshop we will introduce the basics of papermaking on the first day: Make pulp from recycled brochures, envelopes, etc., screen it, then transfer it to a surface to dry. You will learn to use different dye baths and work with different size screens. We will embed 3D material into wet paper and learn about stencils and laminating techniques. You will take home several sheets of your very own paper.
On the second day, we are going to make an art purse that you can display on the wall (2D only). Using wet pieces of coloured paper that you screen and make yourself, you will design and create a personalized handbag. The pulp will be made from recycled xerox paper, card and cotton linter.
All Materials are included but please bring a large piece of plexi, card or mat board to take away still damp creations. It gets them home safely. Handmade paper makes beautiful bookmarks, gift cards, book covers, etc. You will get a take home instruction sheet to help you with your newfound interest!
