Watercolour Impressionism

$375.00

Description

Instructor: Allan Kirk. Working quickly in an impressionistic way, learn and practise the immediacy and flexibility of the watercolour medium. Working outdoors with light, transparency, wet-in-wet watercolours, and lost and found edges are the qualities that set watercolours apart. Each day every student will create at least one watercolour painting, working both outdoors and in the studio.

Allan Kirk is coming all the way from the South West of France where he hosts Painting Holidays in a region called Tarn. He has been involved in the arts and teaching art for many years. He explored oils, acrylics, pastel and crayons before finding his passion for watercolour impressionism, pencil and ink drawing. For the last ten years he has worked mainly in watercolour, exhibiting in galleries in England and France. In 2005 he won the Soreze painters in the streets competition. In 2008 he won the St Julia painters in the streets competition. He has also contributed articles to Artist & Illustrators, the SAA and watercolorpainting.com
